Waterborne disease has led to the death of 10 people with others hospitalised in Giza Community of Keana local government Area in Nasarawa State.
Chairman of the local government council, Adamu Adigiza confirmed the incident, saying the affected people are currently receiving treatment at Dahaltu Specialist Hospital (DASH) in Lafia, and in some primary healthcare centers in the area.

According to him, ” We are trying to repair the only borehole in the community which has broken down.
” Those hospitalized are suffering from typhoid, ringworm, and guinea worm. I want to control the situation and provide good water to the people.” He said.
The traditional ruler of the community, Sangari Giza, Alhaji Umaru Elegu Abu II, appealed to the government to complete the Dam which has been abandoned and to provide motorized boreholes for them.
The Permanent Secretary, ministry of education, Usman Abu, who lost his younger brother, Sanusi Abu said his brother died of typhoid due to the contaminated water.
A resident, Azigye Abubakar Orume said he knows most of the people that died from the water contamination issue.
