The House of Representatives Thursday urged the Federal Government to constitute the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission as required by the NDDC Act 2000.
It also urged the government to adhere to Section 4 of the NDDC Act 2000 and Delta State which is the next in alphabetical order for the position of board chairmanship slot.

This was sequel to the adoption of a motion moved by Kolade Victor Akinjo.
The house also urged adherence to Section 12(1) of the NDDC Act 2000 and consider Ondo, Edo and Imo member states in this order based on quantum of production as 5th, 6th, and 7th for the positions of the Managing Director, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, and Executive Director, Projects of the Board respectively.
It noted that the composition of the board of the Niger NDDC as regards the offices of the chairman, Managing Director and the two Executive Directors had been mired by great injustice for a long time.
The house said urgent steps must be taken to reverse the trend of injustice being meted out to the excluded states.
