A former Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin has called for calm over the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Nasarawa governorship election.
It could be recalled that the Supreme Court on Friday upheld the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.
The five-member panel of the Supreme Court, led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, dismissed the appeal filed by David Ombugadu of the PDP, challenging Sule’s victory.
Following the verdict, a violent protest erupted in Lafia, the state capital, with the police arresting several suspects.

However, the former PDP BoT chairman in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna called on party faithful to accept the ruling of the apex court.
He called on politicians in the state to support Governor Sule in moving the state to greater heights.
He said, “Anybody that tries to go against the decision of the Supreme Court is creating a problem for themselves and for the state, the only thing we should do is to accept the will of God.”
