It was late Monday, April 12, 2021, when the two communities Nyuwar and Jessu engaged in a clash that claimed not less than 15 lives while houses were burnt down. Business premises were also affected leading to loss of property worth millions of naira.
The irony of this senseless action is that both communities share boundaries as well as infrastructure such as schools, health facilities among others.

Needless to say, there is nothing to gain in killing a fellow human being or destroying properties.
Often, the result of every communal clash is the destruction of businesses, schools, health centres and many others that are of benefit to all. More importantly, it results in sowing hate among the younger generation.
It’s time we tell ourselves the truth and stop engaging in such barbaric acts. Nigerians must avoid engaging in communal clashes as there is no benefit one can drive from it apart from disturbing the nation’s peace and stability. Please let our nation make progress.
