The Chairman Senate Committee on Federal Character, Sen. Danjuma Tella Laah, says he is currently working to ensure that the vulnerable within his constituency also benefit from the N5,000 conditional cash transfer of the federal government.
Sen. Laah, who represents Southern Kaduna Senatorial District at the upper legislative chamber, stated this shortly after he inaugurated the distribution of palliatives across the eight local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
The senator explained that though government is currently implementing the programme in phases, he has since met with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development on the matter.
He appealed to the people to be more patient as the poorest of the poor in the zone will benefit from the programme soon.
Sen. Laah said he remained committed to the plight of his people and will continue to do his best to give them quality representation for improved socio-economic growth.
He tasked those saddled with distributing the palliatives to follow strictly the template for even distribution to cushion the effects occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the globe.
The senator also advised the people to adhere to the procedures as outlined by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control because the virus is real.
