The Victims Support Fund (VSF) Task Force on COVID-19 has donated 60,000 pieces of the COVID-19 Rapid Test Kit to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) ahead of orientation camps opening for prospective corps members.
The kits were donated through the Presidential Steering committee (PSC) on COVID-19 during its first briefing in Abuja on Monday.

While delivering the materials, the chairperson of the VSF Task Force on COVID-19, Mrs Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, said the donation was part of VSF’s efforts to curb the spread of the virus in Nigeria.
She said the gesture was the highest single donation of test kits to contain the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Mrs Akerele-Ogunsiji told journalists that the test kits were worth N210 million.
The orientation camp for prospective corps members will be thrown open all over the country on 17 May 2021.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Chairman of PSC, while receiving the donation, commended the task force for its effort in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
While assuring that the kits would be deployed transparently, the SGF called on other organisations and individuals to continue to support the government in its effort against the virus.
He emphasised that “we are not out of the woods yet”, urging Nigerians to continue respecting COVID-19 protocols to avert dangers.
