Voters in Kebbi state have kicked against delay in the commencement of the 2015 presidential and parliamentary elections in the state.
This followed commencement of voting as late as 1:10pm in Senchi and most part of Zuru, Sakaba,Danko/Wasagu and some LGAs across Kebbi State.
Our correspondent also observed that,in most Polling Units ,few of those captured on the incident form whose finger prints were rejected were allowed to vote.
Accreditation is still ongoing as at 2:30pm at Magatakarda Polling Units in Tudun Wada, a suburb in Birnin Kebbi despite timely commencement of accreditation by 8am.
Some of the voters expressed their frustration for the long time it take to conduct the accreditation exercise.
One of the voters Bashir Ahmed, who spoke to our correspondent said him and his two wives and five other family members have been on the queu since 9:00am and vowed to remain until they are accredited.
“My wives came with food, so we will remain until we are accredited and cast our vote today,” Mallam Ahmed said.
INEC ad-hoc staff said the delay was caused by the large number of voters in the Polling Unit that is split into two voting units.
“Initially, we were asked to close accreditation by 2pm, but we have been directed to shift it a little bite until all the voters are accredited,”he said.
