Voters in Illela, Kware and Gwadabawa local government areas of Sokoto have started casting their votes amid tight security by men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Kware, Gwadabawa and Illela are some of the local government areas where INEC declared election inconclusive in last governorship election in the state.

When our correspondent visited Katta Hakimii polling zone at Gidan Katta in Illela local government area, stern looking men of the DSS, Police, Civil Defence and Road Safety were stationed around the polling zone.
At Katta Hakimii polling zone 21 security operatives were stationed at some strategic areas while people go about voting their candidates.
According to the presiding officer of the polling zone, Udo Dinma 569 registered voters were expected to vote at the polling zone in supplementary governorship election.
She said” Voting started here at exactly 8am, we had no issues with the card reader and as you can see people are voting in orderly manner”.
