Due to the low turnout of voters for the governorship and state assembly elections in Maiduguri metropolis, Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, and other government officials have engaged in door-to-door mobilisation to lure out more voters.
“In the morning, there was low turnout of voters,” Governor Shettima admitted after voting at his Kukawa Ward polling unit, Lamisula/Jabbamari ward, Maiduguri metropolis.
“So we had to engage in door-to-door mobilisation for more voters to turn out; we expect an impressive turnout before voting ends,” he said.
