Ahead of September 19 governorship election in Edo State, the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II has urged eligible voters in the state to come out enmasse and vote for the candidates of their choice without fear.
The Oba, who made the call during the quarterly meeting of the traditional council which he presided, also noted that the Council has resolved to intensify prayers and use other traditional means to ensure absolute peace before, during, and after the election.

The council commended the Benin monarch, for calling on the two main political gladiators to eschew violence, saying the peace pact has started yielding positive outcome across the state.
The council also warns traditional rulers to remain neutral before during and after the election.
The traditional ruler maintained that the palace doesn’t have a candidate in the election.
