Troops have allegedly killed one person in a raid on suspected drug dealer in an Adamawa village.
Reports from Lafiya Lamurde village indicated that the incident occurred when a combined team of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives and soldiers arrested a patent medicine owner in the village on Thursday.
A resident told our reporter that tension engulfed the village when stray bullet killed a motorcyclist as soldiers fired several shots into the air indiscriminately.
Villagers then blocked the Yola-Gombe road linking Adamawa and Gombe States since 2 pm until 8 pm, causing traffic jam on the busy highway.
Military authorities at the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
