No fewer than six persons were Monday night killed by unknown gunmen in an attack in Wereng village of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
One of the six people killed was Chungyang Mwadkon, the village head of the village, according to the member representing the LGA, Timothy Dangton.
The spokesman of the state police command, DSP Ubah Gabriel, confirmed the attack, adding that the command had deployed security personnel to restore normalcy in the area.
The renewed attack occurred after five persons were on September 25 shot dead by gunmen in K/Vom community of Vwang District in Jos South LGA of the state.
The police said no arrest had been made in relation to Monday’s attack but that its personnel had been working round the clock to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.
