Members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria have commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for donating six operational vehicles and 60 motorcycles to the six area councils. Operational commander in Zuba, Yahaya Madaki, said the gesture, the first of its kind in the FCT, had been yielding positive results.
Madaki, who doubles as the Deputy Commander of the group in the Gwagwala council, said each of the six councils in the territory was given one Hilux van and 10 motorcycles, urging the minister to do more by including other areas in the scheme.
He said Zuba town had one bike but needed more in view of its strategic location.
He solicited vehicles for each of the 10 wards in the council, adding that, βAn emergency call that needs a vehicle can happen in Dobi, Zuba, or any of the 10 wards. How can we cover all those locations with a single vehicle?β
