Mukhtar Garba Baballiya, leader of a vigilante group in Ja’en community, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano, has been murdered.
The vigilante leader was reportedly stabbed on Tuesday night when he was trying to intervene in a dispute between thugs in Ja’en Makera and Ja’en Unguwar Lalle.
He was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, where he was confirmed dead.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said one suspect had been apprehended in connection with the incident.

Kiyawa appealed to the residents to report any threat to police as he assured them that investigation was ongoing.
Recently, clashes among thugs have become common occurrences in areas like Dorayi and Dala in the ancient city.
