Vigilante arrests 2 for stealing door in Kano

The vigilante group in Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki area of Tarauni LGA in Kano, has arrested two people for stealing a door.

The suspects, Nura Bala and Yahuza, all residents of Kureken Sani, Kumbotso LGA, said they stole the door.

However, they appealed for leniency, promising that they would do it again.

On his part, the vigilantes’ commander, Adamu Abubakar Fiya-fiya said, the suspects who are still with them, would be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

“We caught them after they stole a door from a house. According to them, they break into houses or uncompleted buildings to steal doors or windows, but God has given us victory over them today,” he said.

He further called on residents to be vigilant and always report suspicious movements around their neighbourhoods to the nearest security outfit.
