Vigilante accused of killing okada man, steals bike to raise money for wedding

A vigilante, Usman Yahaya, has allegedly killed an Okada man and stole his motorcycle with the intent to sell it and raise money for his wedding in Mokwa LGA of Niger State.

 A resident, Idris Abubakar, told our correspondent that, “The suspect slaughtered the bike man on Friday but luck ran out on him when his phone fell at the scene. The corpse was found on Monday morning. The suspect’s wedding is in one month’s time. His name is Usman Yahaya.”

 It was further learnt that the suspect had applied to join the army before the alleged act.

 The Niger State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident to City & Crime, said the suspect had been arrested and had confessed to the crime, adding that a Bajaj motorcycle suspected to have been robbed from the deceased was recovered from an uncompleted building.
