Popular Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata fondly known as Teni, is in the news and this time, it is not for the right reasons. The singer was accused of ordering her bouncer to beat a University of Benin student.

According to the claims of a Twitter user, Malachi Chidiebere Aboh with the handle @MalachiAboh, her friend was hailing Teni when the singer ordered her bouncer to beat him up.

In a video shared via her Twitter account, a young man was seen bleeding from his eyes, moreso, voices in the video accused Teni of being responsible for the attack.

In a series of tweets, Aboh claimed, “Teni Makanaki @TeniEntertainer rebuffed my friend’s cheers and instructed her bouncers to assault him. This happened at The Dome Event Centre, Asaba. Police officers witnessed the assault but made no attempt to intervene and the artiste drove off without even one question.

“Between the encounter and her time of exit, sufficient time had passed for her to have glossed over it. He didn’t accost her, she walked up to him. She intended to teach him a lesson. And she quite succeeded.

“Is it normal to beat up anybody that says anything you do not find pleasing because you are a celebrity? Her actions were fuelled by the thinking that no consequences would arise.”
