VIDEO: Days after Ooni of Ife remarries, ex-wife bags honourary doctorate

Three days after the paramount ruler of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, welcomed his new bride, Mariam Anako, into the palace, his former wife, Naomi Silekunola, announced that one of her dreams has come true.

The former queen revealed that she has been conferred with an honourary doctorate at the Myles Leadership University, Cotonou, Benin.

Taking to her verified Instagram account, Naomi shared videos of the ceremony. Moreso, in the caption section, she wrote, “A glorious night it is, for me and my loved ones. I’m excited to announce to you that another feather just got added to my crown. Today, I got conferred with the award of honourary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the prestigious “Myles Leadership University”.

She further seized the opportunity to advise her fans and followers to endeavour to always work hard.

The former queen stated, “While you walk through this world, please work hard. The heat will come but soon the honours will follow. The road may be bumpy but with prayers and consistency, the ride would eventually become smooth. Finally, brethren, after all, is said and done “Will THERE BE ANY STARS IN YOUR CROWN WHEN AT EVENING THE SUN GOES DOWN?”(sic)

The Ooni of Ife and Naomi Silekunola tied the knot in October 2018; however, Naomi announced her separation from the monarch on Thursday, December 23, 2021, thus ending a marriage that produced a son, Tadenikawo.
