Nasarawa State Government yesterday conducted a mass burial for the 16 victims of the recent banditry attack on Kochu village of Numa District of Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

The burial was conducted by the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the area.

Deputy Governor Silas Ali Agara, who represented Governor Umaru Almakura, said a security base would soon be established in the affected communities of the local government area to enable security personnel drafted to the area secure lives and property.

Agara called on the people to be law-abiding and accept the scenario as the will of God.

The chairman of the local government, Samuel Meshi and the Chun Mada, Samson Gamu Yare, called on the Federal Government to take proactive measures towards ending the senseless killings in the country.
