One of the victims of airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at Mutunji community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State has died after weeks of surgical operations.

Last December, an aerial bombardment conducted by NAF on Mutunji community in the troubled Dansadau Emirate killed dozens of residents including armed criminals.

The collateral damage was recorded after the armed criminals ran into Mutunji community to shield themselves from air raids on the sight of the military fighter jets.

Twelve of the victims were brought to Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital in Gusau, the state capital.

“The other victims cannot be discharged any time soon because of various degrees of injury they sustained, while some of them were referred to Federal Medical Centre, Gusau and Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital,” the management of the hospital said.

Meanwhile, some of the victims currently responding to treatments appealed to public spirited individuals to come to their aid to help them recover from the injuries they sustained.
