Vice principal, exam officer abducted from Abuja school

Gunmen have abducted the vice principal (academics) and examination officer of the Government Secondary School (GSS), Yebu, in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Ishaya Barnabas, said the incident happened around 12am on Tuesday, when the gunmen in their larger numbers shooting sporadically invaded the school’s staff quarters.

He further said that, “In fact, Yebu community was terrified last night as a result of the gunshots to the extent that police officers at the police station could not engage them because of their superior fire power.”

The Kwaita branch Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Abubakar Sheriya, confirmed the abductions.

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to reply to an SMS about the incident.

It would be recalled that kidnappers had late last year invaded the same school and abducted two staff.
