The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Veritas University, Abuja, Prof Hyacinth Ichoku, on Wednesday said the institution will be conferring honourary doctorate degrees on the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev Ignatius Kaigama; John Cardinal Onaiyekan, and the founder of Arik Air, Sir Johnson Arumemi, during its 11th convocation which would hold this Saturday.
He said the awardees were selected for the honour based on their impactful contributions to society.

The VC, who spoke at a pre-convocation press conference, said a total of 455 graduands comprising 397 from undergraduate programmes and 58 from the postgraduate school would be graduated.
He explained that from the undergraduate programmes 28 made first class; 162-second class upper; 177-second class lower and 34 third class.
He disclosed that the convocation lecture would be delivered by the Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fasola.
