The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects known for producing fake motor vehicle documents for stolen vehicles in the state.

The spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspects were arrested in connection with the arrest of some notorious car thieves, Odinaka Godwin and two others, from whom nine motor vehicle plate numbers and 10 motor vehicles were recovered.

Kiyawa said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko, had directed that seven of the recovered stolen motor vehicles be handed over to their owners. “Whereas, the following; Toyota Camry LE motor vehicle, golden colour; Toyota RAV4 motor vehicle, black in colour, and Toyota Camry LE motor vehicle, ash in colour, are yet to be claimed.”

According to Kiyawa, a discreet investigation into the car thieves also led to the arrest of one Abdulra’uf Olalade, 57, at Fagge Quarters and his accomplices, Abdullahi Suleman, 52, of Kurna Quarters and Suleman Ibrahim, 57, of Haye Hotoron Arewa Quarters of the state.

“The suspects confessed to having specialised in producing fake motor vehicle documents. The discreet investigation is in progress, after which the suspects will be charged to court,” he said.

He urged anyone whose motor vehicle was stolen and listed above to report at the PPRO office, Bompai Police Headquarters Kano.
