A female passenger in one of the tricycles, said, “It is unfortunate that some of our roads in Akwa Ibom have become dilapidated and often impassable, but the government has become insensitive to the plight of the people plying the roads.”
She added that it was not only the roads within the town, but also the ones linking the state with other states, citing the Uyo – Calabar road which she asserted ‘is the worst road in the country linking two states.’
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, said Governor Udom Emmanuel was committed to ensuring the provision of best road networks across the 31 local government areas.
