Akwa United young attacker, Godfrey Aondoaseer Utim, has expressed eagerness to start scoring for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side.
The bullish striker who had a brief stint at Inter Allies of Ghana joined Akwa United from Galaxy Sports Makurdi at the beginning of the current season.
Utim who started at DreamFoot Academy from where he moved to Galaxy Sports made his debut in the NPFL against home club Lobi Stars in the week 5 fixture on January 9.
He was part of the Akwa United squad that won 2-0 against Katsina United and drew 0-0 with Sunshine Stars at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo.
Although he is yet to score in the NPFL, Utim is optimistic that very soon, his goals will start coming.
“I am confident that my goals will come. There are still many matches to play. I believe that when it is time, God will make it happen.
“Making my debut in the NPFL against Lobi Stars was a memorable moment for me. My mum, other family members and my fans were in the stadium to support me. I am happy I didn’t let them down.
“More importantly, I acknowledge the support from my coach, Kennedy Boboye. He is like a father to me. I hope to repay his trust with goals,” said Utim.
