Mr Lawal Adamu, popularly known as Mr LA, was declared as the winner of the primary election and his name subsequently published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the PDP candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial district. His victory was challenged.
However, in the re-run primary results as declared by the chairman of the re-run primary, Istifanus Caleb Mwansat, six aspirants participated but gave the names of only three who scored votes.
They are Professor Usman Mohammed with two votes, Mr. Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) with five votes and Ibrahim Usman (Sarduana Badarawa) with 210 votes.
Speaking on the re-run primary, Kaduna State PDP Secretary, Ibrahim Wusono, disclosed that the party is aware that Mr LA has appealed the judgement adding, “There is no order of stay on execution of the judgement hence the rerun, so we are right in the conduct of this re-run primary because we contacted our legal team both within and at the national level.”
