The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) recently conducted its handover ceremony in a grand event held at the ANA Secretariat, Mamman Vatsa Writers’ Village, Mpape,
The immediate past president, Mr Camilus Ukah, gracefully handed over all essential documents and the Seal of the Office of the President to his successor, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi.
In his goodwill message, Mr Camilus Ukah referred to his successor, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi, as a “Destiny Child,” whose landslide victory in the freest and fairest election that ANA has ever witnessed not only demonstrates general acceptance by the Congress but also a return to the founding fathers’ ideals.
He praised the current EXCO team as a group of individuals with proven and trusted capacity and character, assuring him of a greater energetic leap for the association’s future.

Mr Ukah went on to say that he cleared out the jungle for the new president to grow, adding that he prayed to God to grant Dr Akanbi good health and the internal stamina he requires to propel ANA to greater heights.
Amidst the strategic talk session, Dr Yusuf Gamawa, representing Arc. Erivwo, the Director of SP&D, TETFund, conveyed a goodwill message advising the new administration to build on past achievements, while former ANA Abuja Chairman, Rtd. CP. Emma C. Ojuckwu, commended the smooth handover.
The President, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi, expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Mr Camillus Ukah, and the attendants at the ceremony, stating that the first item on his agenda is to unify the organisation by providing a level playing field for all of its members. He concluded by saying that ANA could only get better with a team like his.
