The Chief Executive Twenty Bucks Creative, Mr Charbel Olusanya Jarrouje has described sports as a panacea for peaceful coexistence and an essential tool in breeding mutual understanding among the Nigerian Populace and the world at Large.
Charbel who is also a partner in the Sports for peace Initiative made the remarks on the heels of plans that are currently underway to conduct a peace declaration and a sports tournament that will involve the National youths Leaders of Political Parties, youth stakeholders, sports promoters and enthusiasts ahead of the 2023 General elections.
In his words, he described as a misnomer for peace accords to be signed at almost every electoral season without carrying along the youths who are usually the ones been manipulated to perpetrate electoral violence insisting that in other to get the required results the youths must be carried along henceforth.
The sport tournament he said will focus mainly on football not because its over and above other Sports but because the love and passion Nigerians have for the game saying already sponsors and relevant Political parties have indicated interest to support and participate in the very novel sporting Initiative.
The Nigerian football federation (NFF) would also be providing technical support for the Initiative aimed at fostering peace as it own mark of Commitment as gifts ranging from 1st 2nd and 3rd positions as well as consolation prizes would be given to all participating teams he added.
