US researchers list 3 Kwankwasiya scholars among ‘most-cited scientists in the world’

A team of researchers led by Professor John Loannidis from Stanford University, California has listed three Kwankwasiya scholars among the top most-cited scientists in the world.

The scholars Drs Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman, and Abdullahi Yusuf were among the beneficiaries of the Kano State Government Foreign Scholarship during the tenure of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from 2011 to 2014.

Using verifiable data derived from the SCOPUS database, Mr Loannidis’ team applied algorithms that take into consideration the number of non-self-citations, h-index, co-authorship, first authorship, and a composite indicator to identify researchers whose scholarly works were most cited by their peers.
