US commits $6bn to HIV victims in Nigeria in 18 years

The United States of America Consul General in Nigeria, Claire Pierangelo, on Wednesday in Ibadan said her country had since 2003 contributed over $6 billion worth of assistance to Nigerians living with HIV/AIDS.

She also said by the end of March 2021 there were over 23,000 people living with HIV that received PEPFAR-supported treatment in Oyo State.

The consul-general who stated this during the launch of the HIV Treatment Surge by the Consul-General, United States Embassy in Nigeria, Lagos, Claire Pierangelo, held at the Theophilus Oladipo Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan, also discussed issues of common interests and collaboration.
