Unite and elect right leaders, Gumi tells Muslims

Kaduna-based Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has urged Muslims to unite themselves to elect right and God-fearing leaders in the forthcoming election.

Gumi spoke at the launching of  Dan fodio Mosque Rebuilding in Kaduna State.

He also urged Muslims  to avoid any act capable of creating division among them and work for the peace of the region and country.

According to him, Muslim unity is a directive by Allah if they want to be strong.

He said, “Leadership is like a mat very soon this mat will be rolled over.  Our unity is our strength and it’s a directive from Allah for Muslims to remain united if they want  to succeed.

“We must elect a leader with listening ears, we must elect a leader with God fearing and a leader that respect our religion. If we do that then the rest should be left to Allah,” he said

Gumi also emphasized on the need for the ummah to contribute towards the rebuilding of the most, saying mosque expansion is a sunnah of the prophet Peace be upon Him.

In his remarks, Emir of Zazzau Ambassada Ahmad Nuhu represented by Khadi Muhammad Inuwa Aminu (Waziri) urged Muslims to contribute immensely for the rebuilding of the mosque.

According to him, doing so will earn them abundant reward from their creator.

Similarly, the Chairman of the occasion, Brigadier General Abdulkadir Abubakar Gumi (Rtd) added that Dan Fodio mosque is the second most important place to Izala movement after his late father’s house Sheikh Abubakar Mahmoud Gumi.

He also spoke on the unity of Muslims which he described as very important to the existence of the ummah, assuring  the gathering that the mosque project would be completed as planned soon.
