The Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education in Nigeria has conferred the Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, Bauchi State, with the Award for Outstanding Performance and Uncommon Transformation.
A statement signed by the Principal Public Relations Officer of the college, Suleiman Shehu, said the announcement was made during the union’s annual general meeting in Cross River State.
National president of the union, Danladi Ali Msheliza, said the provost has encouraged 79 non-teaching staff to acquire first and second degrees through Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), created social relationship among staff and students, ensured industrial harmony in the college and provided free medical care services to all staff and students, reliable ICT on campus, constant water supply and hostel renovation.
Executive Secretary of the NCCE, Professor Baffa Muhammadu, also said the provost has given free education to about 130 physically challenged students and created a healthy competition in performance by establishing an internal school scheme for all students that acquire 4.00.
