Professor Olufemi Saibu, who was recently elected as the new Chairman of Ilobu Development Union (IDU), Lagos branch, has pledged to galvanize all members of the union to actualize its noble objectives.
In his acceptance speech, Saibu pledged to promote the interest of every Ilobu indigenes of Osun State in Lagos and to develop Ilobu nation at large.
“I shall work hand-in-hand with all the executive members and I will represent the interest of every young and old Ilobu indigene in Lagos,” he said.
He highlighted the objectives of the union to include harnessing and deploying the human and material resource of the community for development, as well as promoting commercial and industrial ventures which are likely to raise the standard of living of the people in the town.
He said: “I will seek to improve our connections to other branches, the national body, and to IDU in the Diaspora. We will extend hands of fellowship to our sisters unions in Lagos and elsewhere to promote good cause for our people.
“We will make their welfare, their progress and unity of our people the core values of our administration, we will endeavour to make their membership meaningful and worthwhile.
Other elected executive members were Mojeed Alabi (PRO), Shina Ogunmodede (Financial Secretary), Lekan Fasasi (Vice Chairman), Taofiq Ajagbe (General Secretary), Alh Tair Owolabi (Ex Officio 2), Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf (Ex Officio 1) and Sodiq AbdulRahim (Asst PRO).
