The University of Maiduguri, Wednesday announced the appointment of Ibrahim Umar as the new bursar for the institution.
Umar would replace Yahaya Malgwi whose tenure of five years would expire today.

The appointment was contained in a letter signed by the registrar of the university, Ahmed Alhaji Lawan.
A statement by Mohammed Ahmed, the Deputy Director of Information in the university, said Umar was appointed by the governing council of the university at a special meeting which was held yesterday.
He said the new bursar would serve for a single period of five years as stipulated in paragraph 3 of the institution’s Memorandum of Appointment.
