The Vice Chancellor-designate of the University of Ilorin, Prof Wahab Egbewole (SAN), has pledged that his incoming administration will be fair and just to all throughout his tenure.
He made the promise on the heels of the rejection of his appointment by the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA).

IEYDA alleged that the process was biased and calculated to rubbish erudite scholars from Ilorin which had seven professors shortlisted.
But opposing, the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, described the process as an act of God.
Several other groups across the state have also hailed the appointment.
However, Egbewole in a statement on Sunday by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, pledged to be fair to all.
“And we want to extend our hands of fellowship to all our colleagues who also applied for this post and appeal that they should join hands with us to do this work collectively and in an all inclusive manner,” the statement said.
