Unilever board appoints Cruz as Managing Director

Board of Directors, Unilever Nigeria Plc, recently appointed Mr. Carl Raymond Cruz as the Managing Director of the organisation.

In a statement signed by General Counsel and Company Secretary to the organisation, Mrs. Abidemi Ademola, the recent appointment of the Managing Director takes effect from the 1st February this year.

Mrs Ademola said that until his appointment, Mr Cruz has been the Chairman, Unilever Sri Lanka. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from De La Salle University, Phillipines. He has worked at several Unilever branches around Asia such as Phillipines, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka.

Cruz who has served in Unilever since 1992 has gained over 26 years working experience in customer development as well as other marketing roles across Home care, Beauty and personal care as well as foods and beverages.

Ademola noted that while Cruz was the boss in Sri Lanka, business was well positioned to become lean, agile and a digitally-enabled organisation.
