The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has, for the first time in his 54 years history, produced its first ever graduate with 5.00 CGPA in the person of Ayodele Daniel Dada.
UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rahman Bello said disclosed this yesterday at a pre-convocation press briefing of the institution held in Lagos. The ceremonies are slated to commence on March 1, 2016.
Prof. Bello said “Mr. Ayodele Daniel Dada, a graduate of Psychology, Faculty of Social Science, is graduating with a CGPA of 5.00. A perfect score. This means he scored A’s in all courses he took in the programme.”
‎“This year, a total of 10,907 graduating students will receive their degrees, diplomas and certificates during the convocation ceremonies. Out of this number, 5,472 will receive first degrees while 5,435 will receive postgraduate degree.
“Out of the first degree graduating students, a total of 178 passed in the first class division, while 1,617 passed in the second class upper degree, 2,496 in second class lower degree, 884 in third class, 274 in unclassified degrees in Medical Science and Pharmacy and 50 had pass degree. Faculty of Engineering tops with the highest number of first class degrees,” he said.
‎He said the figure also include: Arts 393, Education 605, Environmental science 201, Science 710, Social Sciences 676, College of Medicine 312, Business Admin 803, Engineering 366, Law 251, Pharmacy 92, Distance learning 1063, PGD 391, Masters 4,973 and Ph.D. 71.
