The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, says the Federal Government should give more support to universities.
Speaking Monday during the pre-convocation press conference, he said Nigeria should learn from global powers.

He said the university was determined to hold its 25th and 26th combined convocation ceremony despite the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
“It is a convocation that is celebrating the achievement of our young people. Every academic staff has invested in these young people and they are very excited to ensure that these young people actually graduated,” he said.
He said the school would be graduating 8,769 students, 267 of whom would be awarded doctorate degrees; 2, 372, Master’s degrees and 214, post-graduate diplomas.
For the 25th convocation ceremony, 23 students bagged first-class; 1,052, second class upper; 3,061, second class lower and 324, third class.
For the 26th convocation ceremony, 31 students bagged first-class; 973, second class upper; 2,920, second class lower and 257, third class.
