Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, at the weekend in Abuja, attributed insecurity to youth unemployment and poverty.
Tambuwal, at the flag-off of “Project 20m Nigerians for Accountability in Nigeria”, said provision of welfare and security should be a priority of governments at all levels.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Akibu Dalhatu, he called for a constitutional amendment that would address the issue of devolution of power, saying, “It may be the panacea to the challenges we face as a nation.”
He said with good governance, the tension that had enveloped Nigeria would subside and the nation would be firmly placed on the path to sustainable development
He urged the Federal Government to adopt a “participatory approach” to budget-making process by organizing town hall meetings for inputs of citizens as this would identify priority areas that need major attention.
The Rector of the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Professor Kazeem Adebiyi, said for Nigeria to have good governance, there must be assurance of penalties for failure in meeting up with assigned roles.
