He said, “Like the first set of staff employed by KSMC under your watch, the ‘El-Rufa’i II’ had to take and pass a computer-based test independently conducted and assessed by the Kaduna Media Academy (KAMA).
“In addition to the aptitude test, all candidates aspiring to be newscasters or presenters were auditioned to highlight their on-air competencies,” noted Ahmed.
He then said 64 candidates were shortlisted for interview by the Office of the Head of Service and the Civil Service Commission while the Federal Character Commission served as observer throughout the process from which 55 candidates emerged successful.
“I wish to underline that with the addition of these 55 staff – for the first time in the history of this Corporation – the scales have tilted in favour of excellence.”
The Managing Director, Kaduna State Water Corporation, Comrade Sanusi Maikudi, while urging the recruits to be of good behaviour, said: “There is no free launch anymore, you must work hard to earn your pay.
“Your watchword should be competent, professionalism and expertise because you are expected to operate with the highest level of professionalism.”
The Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Kaduna State Governor, Mr. Muyiwa Adekeye said the state government has established a bill protecting the corporation from political interference thereby making it independent of whoever is in government.
