The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the University of Abuja say they are partnering in the area of entrepreneurship and skills development as part of efforts to close unemployment gap in Nigeria.
Dr Abubakar Al-Mujtaba, ACCI president, represented by his deputy, Emeka Obegolu, disclosed at the e 3rd Anniversary of ACCI and University of Abuja day held in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said, ‘’The partnership between industry and academia has continued to lead to the development of innovation and improvement of existing goods and services.
‘‘We will keep learning from other climes, where the business communities relate with the academia in building a strong structure for economic and skills development and mentoring the youths as we keep preparing them for the future.”

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, said the major problem of the country is skills development which is why the university is partnering with the ACCI to bridge the gap.
He appealed to the chamber to convince the federal government why it should approve of the institution to have as a Free Trade Zone, as they want to celebrate this status in the coming anniversary.
