With the race for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super 6 tickets concluded, attention has shifted to the 2023 Federation Cup competition where the Round of 16 matches are scheduled to be held today at six centres.
Although some NPFL clubs have been pitched with one another, the most interesting fixtures will no doubt be where the underdogs are eying upsets against their more illustrious opponents.
In David versus Goliath battles, Bendel Insurance Feeders will trade tackles with Lobi Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, FC Ebeide face the might of Enugu Rangers at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Edel FC of Anambra square up with Doma United in Abuja while EFCC will attempt to arrest Sunshine Stars in Aba.
Ingas of Enugu will also try to punch above their weight as they face former champions, Plateau United at the FIFA Goal project pitch in Abuja just as NNL sides Warri Wolves and Heartland confront Gombe United and Bendel Insurance in Abuja and Awka respectively.
