A member of the newly inaugurated board of the Shooting Sport Federation of Nigeria (NSSF), Umar Liman Sahabi, has said he is fully committed to uplifting shooting sport in the country.

The estate developer and CEO of Rock and Gold International Limited told journalists that he wouldn’t hesitate to deploy his personal resources for the overall development of the sport.

The Zamfara State born business mogul also congratulated the newly elected president of the Shooting Sport Federation, Navy Commander Bamidele Ayoade and other board members on their success at the polls.

He said “By the grace of God, I’m here to lend a helping hand by improving the NSSF brand’s recognition and reputation. The fact that hooting is an internationally acclaimed sport makes it easier for prospective lovers of the sport to associate with the federation and its activities.

“But we must continue to tap from the wealth of experience of the former Board President, General Lonsdale Adeoye (rtd) because he has always been helpful and remains indispensable.

“I also hope that my presence in the board of the NSSF would give it invaluable exposure by allowing it to reach and connect with the corporate world for the growth and development of Shooting Sport in Nigeria.”

Umar who has participated in several Shooting Sport Championships both within and outside the country reiterated that he would use his private and business connections to help the federation achieve self sustainability.

The Wakilin Doka of Kaura-Namoda also promised to ensure the successful commissioning of the new weapons and equipment the NSSF received from the International Shooting Sport Federation, ISSF as well as improve the national shooting range at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, to international standard.
