The chairman of the caucus and former governor of the state, Sam Egwu, said: “Today, Ebonyi State is awash with weapons supplied and distributed by the state government to persons who are undocumented, nor trained in weapons handling ostensibly for use against perceived political opponents.”
Egwu asked the Inspector-General of Police to hold Umahi responsible should any harm befall any member of the National Assembly”.
Reacting, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Orji Uchenna Orji, challenged the PDP lawmakers to prove their claims.
“PDP in Ebonyi state has got no base without the people of Ebonyi, they rather group themselves to incite the public against a performing governor.
“And so all the allegations are totally fallacious, unfounded and mendacious,” he said.
