Umahi offers N2 million cash reward for information on killers in Ebonyi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has pledged N2 million cash reward to any person with vital information on the identity and activities of unknown gunmen terrorising the state.
He assured that the identity of the informtant would remain secret.
He made this known at the weekend during a one day prayer summit, held at the newly built Christian Ecumenical centre, Abakiliki city capital.
His words: “We shall give a cash reward of two million naira to any person who will give us vital information on the activities of these killers. And we shall not disclose your identity.”
Umahi who also serve as the chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, however, called on some individuals in the zone championing hate speeches to stop such.
He reminded the actors that the current insecurity in the zone cannot be solved by playing partisan politics.
The governor further dismissed the remour making the rounds that thugs causing mayhem in Anambra State were imported by the southeast governors.
He stressed that governors in the zone are not working against one another on the rising cases of insecurities.
“I was reading through social media when I read something that shocked me that governors of the Southeast are the one importing people to be killing people in Anambra State.
“I think that is madness in the person that said it and was a product of the combination of alcohol and alcoholism.
“So, I am advising leaders at this challenging time to abstain from alcohol because the security of our state rest on us and it cannot be solved by partisan politics,” he said.
