Ukraine war will continue until goals are met – Russia

Russia has vowed to continue its war in Ukraine until it achieves its objectives, either on the battlefield or through negotiations.

The Kremlin’s spy chief claims that Russia is close to reaching its goals. President Putin demands Ukraine’s full withdrawal from four eastern regions, which Russia claims as its own. However, Kyiv rejects this as surrender.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, while open to a diplomatic ceasefire, has proposed NATO membership for unoccupied parts of Ukraine as a condition for ending the “hot phase” of the war. Zelenskyy suggested that foreign troops could be stationed in these areas until Ukraine formally joins NATO, with the goal of negotiating the return of the remaining territories later.

Meanwhile, incoming U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an immediate truce between the two sides. Despite this, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov insisted that Russia’s military campaign would continue until all objectives were fulfilled. He stated that these goals could be achieved either through military action or negotiations, though no talks are currently taking place.
