UK-based Nigerian woman ‘shot dead in Ibadan’

A Nigerian woman based in the United Kingdom, Bolanle Aworetan Omojuwa, has reportedly been killed at Guru Maraji village along Lagos-Ibadan express way.

There are reports that Omojuwa, who returned to the country for her mother’s burial, was shot dead in the presence of her children on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

The deceased was said to be on her way to Oyo State when the incident happened.

She had earlier organised a reception in honour of her deceased mother at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Ngozi Onadeko, said there was nothing like that in the state.

“To my own knowledge, there is nothing like that. I just spoke with the DPO, if there is anything like that, I would have been the first person to know or maybe the victim’s family didn’t report to the police.”
