“It has also become a major end-of-year celebration for the Osubi people, promoting sporting activities and youth engagement.”
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who was among the spectators that attended the final, presented trophies and cash prizes to the winners.
Udumurhie FC received N5 million, Team Elite got N3 million, and the third-place team, Esiowa, earned N2 million after defeating Okomowha 4-0 earlier in the day.
Sheriff Oborevwovri Junior, the Governor’s son and organizer of the tournament, rewarded two of his loyalists, Omonigho Francis Agbinone and Paul Idike, with brand-new Corolla cars for their dedication to the competition’s success.
Meanwhile, a former Super Eagles star and former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba, a special guest at the event, praised the initiative.
“I grew up in Sapele, not far from here, and we played similar community football as kids. It’s inspiring to see the Governor’s son giving back to the community.
“This competition not only fosters unity but also offers young players exposure to scouts and club agents,” he said.
