Chief Donatus Nwamkpa led faction of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State have announced Dr Uche Sampson Ogah as the winner of the party governorship primary election held yesterday in the state.
Announcing the results around 4:00am this morning at the party secretariat in Umuahia, the Chief returning officer APC gubernatorial election committee, and a former speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. David Iyoah said the Dr Ogah won in 13 out of 17 LGAs and polled a total of 86,875 to defeat six other contenders.
Before the declaration of results, Iyoah thanked party members and aspirants, for the cooperation and enthusiasm displayed. He pointed out that the winner is the choice of the people and not a product of godfatherism. He called on those who could not win to take heart and cooperate with the winner. The returning officer dismissed the allegation of the committee been bribed by aspirant
Responding, the Governorship Candidate of the party, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, thanked the electoral Committee, the party for conducting a free , fair governorship primary. He extended the hand of fellowship to others, saying that the winning is for the people of the state, “nobody can stand against the will of the people”
