UBTH gets new Chief Medical Director

The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Darlington Ewean Obaseki, as the Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). 

Dr. Obaseki formally assumed duties yesterday.

According to the appointment letter signed by the Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, the 4-year appointment took effect from August 17.

Obaseki, who had been the Acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, University of Benin and has held various positions including, Head Department of Pathology, Coordinator (UBTH) Cancer Registry, Assistant Secretary Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (UBTH).

Other positions held by Obaseki include Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Coordinator/Director Cancer Registry (UBTH), Special Adviser on Sports, School of Medicine University of Benin, amongst others.
